Hello, my name is Beau Flournoy and I am a senior in the
History department at the University of Colorado Denver. I am hoping to
continue my education, after graduation this spring, by pursuing my master’s
degree in Early Modern European History at The University of Glasgow. Outside of my work as a History student, I am
in charge of maintaining labs for Physics, Chemistry and Astronomy at the
Community College of Denver. I have been married to my wonderful wife Madeleine
for 10 years, and we have a sixteen pound canine child that goes by the name Jiggins
Flournoy.
I will be blogging about the Geography
of the Nord-Pas-de-Calais Region of France over the course of the
semester. I chose this setting, because
it encompasses the Lille Métropole where
my family is from, and offers unique geographical features when compared to the
more frequently studied landscapes of Paris and the South of France. Whether it
is the cliffs of Wimereux along the English Channel or the River Deûle
providing life to the region’s prefecture of Lille, the Geography of the area
is sure to be full of wonderful surprises and great discoveries along the way.
